What is the name of your state? TX

Ok, Circuit City owns iqcrew.com and I own iqcrew.net
I also work for Circuit City.
I recently had talks with them on how they want me to take down my site and transfer over to them the domain. I have spoke with many people and read articles that state I am not in any violation of copyright laws.
Would someone help me clarify this? If they fire me for not giving them the domain name, would that be legal? Help

You can be canned for anything

Texas is an at-will state
"Where employees are employed on an indefinite basis, Texas follows the general rule that employment is "at will", and may be terminated by either party at any time, with or without notice.(Claus v. Gyorkey, 674 F.2d 427)"

That being said, Circuit City probably has a trademark on the iqcrew name, you are going to lose any dispute over the domain name.

Second, you registered your domain name 3 months after they did, and are providing essentially the same services (computer assistance over the internet).

Third, you are employed by CC, meaning that you were probably trained by CC about www.iqcrew.com and had non-public knowledge about its use. Yet another instance of bad faith.

Fourth, by taking eyeballs away from the CC site and giving away tech help that customers may be willing to pay for, you are taking business away from CC. Your potential liability keeps building here.

In summary, give them the domain name before you get sued. Expect that one week after the domain is fully transferred, you will get fired. Start looking for a new job, you have no case.

If you are still on good terms with the people demanding your site, I would suggest being very apologetic and start saying "i didn't mean to hurt you guys". Maybe, just maybe, you will be able to keep your current job.

They provided no training what so ever. I have seen many instances of websites with different TLDs (.com .net .org) where the company that owns the .com lost in court with trying to acqurire the .net or whatever. They do not offer assistance via web for pay, its only instore and inhome. I am not charging for anything and besides that, they specifically mentioned that they are not concerned with content, they want the domain name. Even Network SOlutions stated that merely owning a domain name is no form of trademark or copyright infringment. So I'm confused as i get opinions on both sides....
