What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
My father recently passed away. He lived in a mobile home park owning one share of property in a co-op.In his will I am the sole beneficiary, but I have no desire, nor can I afford the monthy HOA fees and taxes on this property.I really just want to walk away and let the co-op take possession of the property. His mobile home is still on the property,in great disrepair. My name is nowhere listed as co-owner on the share document,so can I just walk away from it? For a few months after his death, I was mantaining the lawn and did pay a few months HOA dues, while we were emptying out this trailer.I just don't want this to come back and haunt me,or ruin my credit in the future. Please help!!

Sorry to hear of your loss. You are under no obligation to accept this property from your father's estate.

Good luck

The term is called "disclaim" the inheritance. When the person who is managing the estate tells you you have inherited the property, tell him you disclaim it.
