I cosigned for my ex-girlfriend several years ago. 4 years ago she filed for bancruptcy. When she filed the creditors came after me. They have been telling me that I have to pay or this would ruin my credit. So as it not to go on my credit I have been paying the debt of hers! Do they have the right to collect from me if she filed for bancruptcy? What happens to my credit now? Since I have been paying they tell me that they can't provide me with recipts b/c the account is not in my name. Help! I am confused! - Dallas, Texas
