What is the name of your state? fl I have a man at work who is going around saying that we are an item. he also has been making me CDs that are nothing but sex and love songs. I am the HR person and he calls me every day with some excuse to talk to me. He is making me very unconfortable at work. His boss came to me and told me that he is obsessed with me. I have told my boss and she told me not to worry about it, it will blow over. that made me feel even worse that she doesnt take it seriuosly. I have told my husband about what is going on. he wants me to get legal help to stop it. What should I do?

If you're the HR person, you should know this. If you don't, you'd better learn it pretty darned quickly. The preferred procedure:

First off, tell him to cut it out if you haven't already done so.

If he fails to stop, (or if you've already told him to stop and he hasn't,) if there is someone higher up the ladder than your boss, take it there. If there isn't, or if you do and nothing happens, contact the EEOC and/or your state discrimination board and file a complaint of sexual harassment.

If it is absolutely impossible for you to tell him to stop, the law does not require it, but it STRONGLY prefers it, just as it STRONGLY prefers that you go through all internal remedies first. Then, if nothing happens, you are in a MUCH stronger position when you file your harassment complaint.

BTW, this is not defamation. Your post more properly should have been down on the employment law forums under Job Discrimination and Harassment.

"Am I really the only one who sees the humor in that?"

You Are Guilty, as an HR person, I don't find it humorous; I find it appalling.

I still think her hubby should visit the guy and 'suggest' he take a vacation from his games. But then, since hubby suggested 'seek legal help' I don't see much 'balls' there.

Well, if she's HR, then how much do you want to bet that the guy involved in this is their lecturer on Sexual Harassment? What a company. Sheesh.

What is a "sex" song...

Here is an idea, tell him to drop his drawers, then start laughing histerically... my guess is you never see him again

But that may not be the "appropriate" way to handle this.
