What is the name of your state? Tennessee

Hello Everyone I am new to this forum and hope you can help with my question.

If I owe X amount to services that were performed in a hospital and the hospital turned the outstanding balance to a collection agency and I can only send X amount of money to clear my debt but CANNOT afford any additonal money to come out of my budget. What can I do to make them accept my offer?

I have X amount of money and do not want to spend on anything else but clearing this debt. My husband is unemployed and I am the only one bringing in income so I do not want to offer monthly payments.

HELP!!!!

the CA doesn't have to accept anything but what you owe. Make them an offer and let them know that's it. How much (% wise) are you offering them based on what you owe?

It is a $234.00 differance :(

I have received so many different types of responses that I am so confused. The amount of what I owe is way under the amount a collection agency is willing to sue for. I do not feel right within myself knowing I owe some company out there money. After all I have my rights also (Right?) if I am trying to resolve this balance and they won't accept does that go against me?

HELP!!!
