I do know the law. Why is it when a spouse asks a question or responds on behalf of the NCP, everyone is up in their face? The only reason I come here is to find information that will benefit my husband and I get nasty and rude responses all the time which I just ignore. The name of the site is freeadvice. It's not freeadvice for only parties to an action. There is nothing wrong with a spouse helping their spouse with court-related issues.

Does that also mean it's just fine to hijack another poster's thread?

whatever, don't you all worry, I'll take my questions elsewhere and unsubscribe from this site. Ya know, I used to come on here like 5-6 years ago and it was different. Now it's just a bunch of sarcastic people. I was on here long before most of you but since things have changed, I'll be going elsewhere.

Because you're NOT smply responding on behalf of your spouse - you're making comments of your own. Such as "my response will be:". No, it won't. Your response is meaningless to the court. "My husband feels" or "It is my husband's opinion" are speaking on his behalf. See the difference, dear?

IMO, this forum feels it is very important for a step parent to KNOW THEIR PLACE. Many steps come on this forum asking questions about what "they" can do about "their" child and things of that nature.

A step parent is a legal stranger and has absolutely no say, whatsoever, in the child's life, legally. It is offensive and disrespectful to assume otherwise. Just because you married into a family means nothing.
