What is the name of your state?
Iowa: What is the length of time living together that is considered a common law marriage?

Contrary to popular belief, there is no specific amount of time defined by any of the states where common-law marriages are recognized. You could live together for 20 years and not be married... on the other hand you could live together 2 years and have your common-law marriage recognized.

A search on: www.google.com (type in: Iowa "common-law marriage" ) for lots of info that will answer your next 20 questions...

Good Luck.
