comp reducing my checks to next to nothing

timm90, i am interested why you have suffered with this and have not had an MRI, then corrective surgery? Is there a possibility the disc can be relieved with a surgeon?

I have 2 herniated disc, 1 protruded disc, and 1 that was extruded and broken apart... the L5S1 which I just had surgery on 3/9/06. I have suffered in allot of pain for well over a year and never took even 1 day off, just allot of narcotics to get through the pain, then I finally realized, 'hey I can't work this out in the gym', there is something really wrong here, so I had an MRI, got the results and then immediacy sought out a highly regarded surgeon in this field of surgery. It worked of course. I was only out of work for just under 3 weeks and I was suppose to stay out for 6 weeks.

I guess my point is, no ones going to support my houses nor my corral of vehicles..... so?

Like ellencee, I work with comp cases through PDFR's, and Surveillances and I am still amazed how allot of them get high percentage Permanent Disability. ellencee your last post was so on the money !!!!

so i would not waste your intelligence on two people that dont care how injured anyone is on this posts , ignore them and they will eventually go away people come on this site looking for advice and a little kind word ,they are the people we respond to ,the injured
that have worked hard all there lives and need to put food on the table to feed their families but are so much in pain , these are the people we respond to. we cannot respond with the 2 clowns that show no advice to the injured. people like that usually get their day.

You and fireboat can bond all you want, but the bottomline is that fireboat is an idiot has not given a shred of sound legal advice to anyone on any thread in this forum..

Two years is far too long for you to be without resolution of the medical part of this claim...in my experience this length time represents the workers' hesitancy to receive the recommended treatment. Is that the comp carriers fault? Your reduction in benefits comes because physically you can work light duty and you choose not too. Its really up to you.

i,m listening

ok on a kind note, i have had a m,r,i and i have 2 severe herniated discs that all docs even the i,m,e doc checked out the i.m.e doc was the one that said i was a good candidate for surgery to go get consultation i did. i went to two more docs surgeon docs that is, and they all want me to have the discogram test done even the i.m.e doc said he agreed with having the discogram test done i want to work and i will work i will do anything that my neck and the front of my shoulder which is the pec region can tolerate, i have nerve damage that travels up the side of my neck and up to my ear my neck goes numb and electrical feeling and so much inflamation, i have had 3 facet nerve block injections in my neck and nothing helped, between patches and pain killers,and taking pills for the inflamation nothing is helping i would do anything to work and i,m going to. you are right being out this long is not healthy , all i want is to get better, and get a job even if its a
light duty job and i will. you are right its been a long waiting game of hoping i will improve. thankyou

Wow, I'm so discusted to read some of these posts. I thought this was supposed to be informative AND supportive. I too was injured on the job 5 years ago. After 4 unsuccessful surgeries, I'm still dealing with red tape and politics. See, the thing is, I was a supervisor with a major airline, LOVED MY JOB of over 15 years and begged them to take me back at any capacity. Well, they didn't, they cut me loose. 5 years of people like you EC and your inability to 'soften the blow' when giving your opinion is exactly what I've dealt with. It's not the message, it's the delivery of that message. Contrary to your opinion, I'm not looking for a free ride. I'd GLADLY give back the paultry checks from my company and now a possible settlement for basically losing the use of my upper extremities to have 'a' job back with a company I loved. Are you so hardened that you've forgotten that there are really people out here that need the system to work for them? And is it people like you that have a chip on your shoulder that you can't see who clearly is working the system and those whom are not? Maybe you've been working on my case and your tainted beliefs have held up any hope I have for compensation. Oh, by the way, I only have one beautiful daughter....over half of her life she's seen her mother cry after every doctors' appointments, physical therapy and surgeries.....If you think my story is a sob story then I'll grab you a box of kleenex because I have plenty.

I've been injured on the job THREE times as I stated and blew a different disc each time. Starting in 1990 I blew another one every 5 years. I injured my back so many times because I'm a hard damn working American man who gives 100%... and then some, to make sure you have the electricity to sit there giggling like a gossiping troublemaker while banging out your ever so unhelpful caustic replies.

Wow Greg lots of anger here...what did the union screw you over?...were you drunk when you had one of those 3 accidents? Never fear Wisconsin only has a 15% penalty if you are injured as a result of intoxication, so go smoke you some and head over to Racine for a few beers. Kenosha and Racine Counties aren't nearly as hard on drunk drivers as Milwaukee County so live it up!!! Oh D.A. (and I don't mean district attorney) I put myself through undergraduate in the University of Wisconsin system without the help of anyone (no money from family or scholarships or grants), so if you don't have an education it's not because of economic disadvantage, its because your a lazy a**!!

Dude you and every other victim on the workers' compensation forum have been given solid legal advice...and we've tried to tell you possible reasons for the cessation of benefits and you are too busy being the "victim" to understand what you need to do to provide for yourself and your family...Noone is trying to villify here or say that your are lying, but you have to understand that your victim mentallity is NOT productive. I have a life and some part of it I spend trying to help injured workers' and the companies they work for. I have been on both sides of the game and I know what I have seen. THis is not a support forum, it designed to provide legal adivce. Please go to therapy and please do not try to charge your employer for that therapy. I can assure that your "depression" started long before this injury because you have never had an adequate system in place to cope with adversity.
