When I posted the PC I included most of it not knowing what specific animals were involved, thinking like Carl, cows, and later thought geese, some of which can be rather intimidating around their young. Now we know an Emu was killed these are rather expensive eggs and day old chicks when available run $1,000-1,500 and 2years old pairs $25,000-28,000, plus the loss of young and production etc. Hopefully the bullet is perserved since there was a carcas, also aside from trauma to the animals, were they left unattended and suffered because of that?

I am speachless

EMU PRODUCTION Current prices for yearling emu pairs (sexed) are $12,000 ... age are insurable and their adult size and ... Disadvantages include high cost, the special equipment and http://gallus.tamu.edu/Extension publications/emuproduction.pdf

left to suffer

california

rmet4nzkx, yes they were left unattended and did suffer. She didn't die until the following day. The babies a total of 5 scattered into the fields while the police were there and 3 were recovered. Out of those 3 babies one ended up dying because it was to weak w/o the mother. It was really sad, no joke.
