My company hired me with the intention of applying for a work permit as I could only work for 12 mths on my current visa. I am still employed after 14 months without sponsorship. Should I leave before 18 mths,my contractstates that I must pay the company for training costs. Considering it is stated that the necessary permits would be obtained in my contract,is my contract now null and void? Must I pay training costs now that I have decided to leave before 18mths?

Does this mean you are out of status ?? if so, yes, you can leave.
