What is the name of your state? FL

I filed ch7 & was discharged 1-03. I has leased a car with my boyfriend- I am 2nd on the lease. The creditor has refused to offer a reaff & said they do not offer them on their leases. So we have continued to pay as he has no intentions of getting rid of his vehicle.

They began reporting against him as saying the account was included in bankruptcy & they have removed the balance & payment history from the credit bureau, so it does appear like he is no longer paying them.

We contacted them several times about this & we received a letter from their executive office saying they would report "second borrower filed bankruptcy" "primary borrower not bankrupt"..

This has not been done with any of the credit bureaus.. we have disputed them all & they answered back saying it was reported correctly--that he did include this in bankruptcy. The credit treats us like dirt when we call them.

It has been so bad that he attempted to trade the vehicle in & the dealer accused us of trying to dispose of a vehicle that will be repo'd, simply because of how it is being reported. The creditor refuses to provide a payment history or letter indicating we are making payments on the vehicle.

Any suggestions on how we can proceed would be great !

I'm not too familiar with this, but someone has posted about this before. The cases were just settled weeks ago so it might be too soon right now. Maybe someone else can provide some input.

Also, check this website's forum for a great source of information regarding credit reports.

Here's the last I've seen. Notice it specifically says co-sighners. So, were you listed as joint or as cosigners?

Credit reporting giants Equifax and TransUnion have agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit that alleged the companies sold misleading data about millions of consumers.

The companies agreed to stop using a bankruptcy notation on the credit reports of individuals who have not filed for bankruptcy but are co-signers for people who have, according to attorneys and others familiar with the negotiations.

The change could make it easier and cheaper for the affected consumers to
