What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

thank you first for taking time to read and hopefully advising me on what to do.

i have pulled my credit report (the free one). i got all 3 agencies. one of the agencys (just one) shows my foreclosure that happened back in 2007. the other 2 have dropped it off my report. (yea!) can i ask the 3rd agency to drop it or how do you go about having it removed? i know it can stay on there for 7 yrs, but if the other 2 dropped it off, cant i ask the 3rd one to do the same?

also, i had a credit card w/home depot back in 2000. it has not had any activity since 2005. they keep it open on my report and state that i owe $300. i do not think i do but i do not want to give them the chance of keeping it there if it is already in violation of the SOL for the state. Is there anything I could do with this? Should i dispute it or just let it be?

the CRA does not drop reports on their own choice. They report what they are given to report. Unless the creditor wanted to change the reporting, there is nothing you can do.

to the credit card; if you had activity on it in 2005, you have until at least next year before it will drop from your report.

the SOL for collecting the debt has nothing to do with reporting it on your CRA.

should the credit card be dropped if it was part of my bankruptcy back in 2005? or how do you notify the credit reporting agency that this was part of the bankruptcy and should not be listed on the report?

the credit card can be reported for 7 1/2 years beyond the charge off date (if that is before the BK discharge). It must be reported accurately though which means, whatever the actual status of the account is is what must be shown. The fact it was included in the BK does not change the facts of the account prior to the BK.

It should not show you owe $300 because you don't if it was included in the BK. It can show the last balance prior to the BK as whatever it was. It should reflect that the account was discharged due to the BK though. Contact the CRA and alert them to the improper reporting if there is such an improper report.

i disputed the reporting with the one credit reporting agency and they came back saying it was accurrately reported. where do you go from here? it was never late, i just included it in my bankruptcy at the advise of my attorney back in 2005. now that i questioned it, they reported it as an open account with a balance owed and have reported 6 yrs of late payments. is there another option i can go to? they never listed it as a charge off either.

Send the credit card processor a copy of your bankruptcy discharge order with a letter stating that the debts on the card were discharged at that date.
