What is the name of your state? Nevada

I was discharged from a Chaper 7 bankruptcy late last year. Some Accounts that were discharged indicataed that the account had been "charged off", while others indicate that the account was past due 30 days or more in some cases.

In regard to the accounts included in bankruptcy, can I force the credit reporting agency to stop reporting how long they were past due prior to the bankruptcy?

All of the discharged accounts should show a zero balance and 'included in bankruptcy' only. Definitely dispute any entries that show otherwise and they have to update. You'll probably have to give them your BK case number and a copy of your creditor matrix to fix it.

As suggested I contacted Experian. they told me in no uncertain terms that payment history prior to the BK stays on the file for the prescribed times. Should I contact a lawyer?

I wouldn't do that just yet, no.

Here's my suggestion - go over to www.creditboards.com and post your specific question there. The 'veterans' there are all about self-help credit report repair and they would know best how to dispute the entries (if you can).

Should the MOP BE DELETED AFTER THE BK

"I was discharged from a Chaper 7 bankruptcy late last year. Some Accounts that were discharged indicataed that the account had been "charged off", while others indicate that the account was past due 30 days or more in some cases"

First question: How did you contact them? Hopefully, by certified letter. Never contact Credit Reporting Agencies by phone. All you have is someone on the other end with a verbal statement. In most cases they would just tell you anything to get you off the phone.

Suggestion: Write a letter stating the information contained on your credit report regarding your BK filling is false and mis-leading. Ask them why are they reporting information that should have been included in the BK Charge Off with a 0 Balance and not more or no less. The other listings looks as if these are seperate account that were obtain either after the BK or never were including in the BK so this information can be misleading. Try that and see how that works.

NOTE: The information provided is from years of research of Credit Laws and how it affect consumer. This information is not legal advice and if legal advice is needed, please consult an attorney in your state.
