Hi Freedon, I am sure the laws do vary from state to state. The probation officer would know, or should I say any probation officer of the state should be able to answer that.

I have been lucky in finding some answers to my questions by the Police Department believe it or not. Just a thought....

If you find out...let us know...

I am helping raise the daughter of the mother I am talking about. I'm living with the daughters father. Hope your with me so far. The mother is a convicted drug abuser has done plenty time for forging precription meds. She was released in November of 2004 and went to live with her mother. Her son in the mean time was in jail for repeated theft and breaking probation. He is now out and living in the same house. The crazed mother has contact with the daughter that I am raising with the father and when she calls it is always some great drama. Last night she was angry because when she asked her daughter if she would go visit her the daughter said she didn't know and the mother hung up on her. Later calling back with this story about her having to go back to jail for 6 months because she is not allowed to be living with her son. But get this big punchline.....she is planning on marrying this guy she met through jail who is waiting to get out of jail. How does all of this make since and I wanted answers...real answers so that I can sit down with my soon to be step daughter and reassure her that her mom is just trying to get attention. This is not the first or only story she tells her daughter. I wish they didn't even have contact. But I guess it's matter of time before this young lady realizes this for herself and puts her mother in her place.

Chances are it is not illegal. In my state it is not uncommon for "birds of a feather" to reside under the same roof. We have a few families where mom, dad, and two or more kids are ALL on probation!
