Navigator, it does not take much room at all to smuggle in enough urine to fill a cup part way. Women, in particular, have more places to smuggle such things - both in clothing and in ... uh ... other places.

That's correct. I have seen visine bottles, balloons, tubes, etc. while observing screens. And I make the women spread their legs wider to I can observe the urine stream. I've also had heavyset women lift up the folds of the stomach. I don't mean to humiliate, but if I ever have to testify in Court, under oath, that I observed the screen, I want to be sure that urine belongs to the client.

Fortunately, my office is large enough that female officers observe female probationers and males observe males. The next county south only has female officers.

You do not not have to drop your pants every week in front of a male if you are a female. And I would state that a female should not be watching the peeing process either.

You are not in jail; you are taking a test.

Bring your own cardboard piece and make your own "stall".

I have not submitted to those TSA gropings or nudoscans either ... I am always re-directed to the magnoscans when I complain.

If you were on probation you wouldn't quite have the privacy options. If you refused to be observed, that can be called a violation or a refusal to test and can result in a return to custody. It is certainly an option, but not necessarily a wise one.

Yep. A refusal is considered the same as a positive screen. Chain of custody requirements mean the screen has to be observed and the observer follows certain protocols.

Your friend could always request to serve out her sentence in custody.

This is basically what she has told me and that she just wants to complete the 30 day program, not cause any rifts and get it behind her.

I have no problem with and understand the need for an observer. Its the fact that it is being done by a member of the opposite sex who is in a position of power and control, much different than a unisex bathroom where you have a choice to shut the stall door or find another restroom. Granted we are in the deep south where people are more old fashioned and modesty is still considered a worthwhile virtue, but it just seems to me than if societies moral compass is changing it should not be forced on people, it should be by free choice. I also don't buy the arguement that this is a result of budget cutbacks or lack of female applicants. I have little doubt that juveniles are tested by members of the same sex.

juveniles get treated differently in our courts because they are juveniles. Is she a juvenile?

Your friend needs to get over this. These people are doing a job. I seriously doubt she is going to run into somebody suffering from urolagnia.

well, maybe she has the option of going back and accepting jail and rehab if this is that troublesome.
