What if mom is using the money to pay for things like the child's health insurance, car insurance, cell phone etc? Then mom isn't using in on herself, she is using it on the child's expenses. Maybe that is why mom only sends her half?

BB is correct. The law is the law in Mass. and if your kid is a full time student, dependant on thier parents for support, (living in a dorm doesnt count) The support is paid till 23.
