What is the name of your state? Missouri

When you got to court for a custody case do they normally look to see if you have any type of criminal record? I'm going to go file for custody of my son and I'm trying for sole custody. His dad has a crimanal record and I was wondering if they will look at that and take that into consideration.
Thanks

They'l take it under consideration if it's pertinent - does it affect his ability to parent? Is he a threat to the child? How long ago was it?

On his juvenile record, which I don't think they can use he has a lot of assualt charges. His last one he was convicted for 5 yrs ago and he just got off of parole last year. It was for armed robbery. Plus he was in jail just a few months ago for something, but he wouldn't tell me what it was for.

Considering your son is 5, you may have trouble convincing a judge that you didn't have any clue of his past history when you chose to have a child with him - and therefore may have trouble using that information against him in a custody hearing. Your best bet is to talk to an attorney.

After you get to this page, click on the down arrow for circuit courts selection list, scroll to "All of the Above" A new page will pop up for a state wide search. Type in his last name and his first name and hit FIND. Juvy records will not be on here but everything else will. You can look up anyone you want in the good ol Show Me state.

theb thanks for the link, but he's actually in Illinois.

stealth2-I was prenant with my son when he commited the robbery. He actually got of easier, becuase of this reason. They figured he couldn't help support him if he was in jail. I didn't know about his assualt charges until afterwards when his dad told me about them. I've talked to attorneys and they all want at least 1000.00 to do it, so I guess I will either have to wait or just hope I get lucky without one

Thanks
