What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia
I am starting a technical service website. I can't send a common invoice before rendering service because of parts (don't know what I'll need at first) and because I charge an hourly rate. (and don't know how long it will take at first). My worry is that sending an invoice after I have done the work and put together a bill will result in the customer not paying and me being able to do nothing about it.
What is the best way to guarantee payment? Do I need some kind of contract or waiver for them to sign ahead of time? If so, is there a generic one I don't have to pay a lawyer to draw up and can just put my companies name on? Thanks
