This is not about alimony, this is about child support.

I do feel that it is a problem with the system. If there is a system in place that allows a judge to make such a ruling, then yes, it absolutely is the system. The judge is not a singular entity acting alone. It is not the general rule, but an exception to that rule, that a parent can attend college and be excused from their child support obligation while doing so. Generally, they are imputed an income (and rightfully so, just the same as I was).

I don't know what your need to be right in this thread is, but you've moved from one point to the next, none of which have been constructive or helpful, and in some cases - totally irrelevant and completely off topic. We could sit here and argue semantics all day, but I've better things to do, so move on, please.

Thank you to everyone else that did help (especially CourtClerk and LdiJ). I genuinely appreciate the advice and input from objective perspectives. With that, you two already answered my questions, again, with appreciation for that, I am going to close this thread so that attention may be focused on others that still need help instead of repeatedly bumping this one up for someone's misguided assumptions.:)
