What is the name of your state? Minnesota
What would happen if, after bankruptcy papers are filed, but before discharge is achieved, the petitioner dies?
Will his executor of his estate finish the process ? Or would the estate be liable for the debts?

If the petitioner cannot attend the 341 meeting the Trustee will most likely dismiss the bankruptcy filing. No one can attend in the petitioners place.

Actually, it may be possible to tak ethe 341meeting to the petitioner. For instance, the trustee can go to the hospital or wherever. No one SAYS it has to be at a courthouse.

I've seen 341 meetings held at a recplex for gosh sakes.

The key is to CONTACT the TRUSTEE WELL AHEAD of time to make alternative arrangements.

Its also possible that the lawyer for the petitioner could go ahead with the 341 meeting if the petitioner dies before the 341 meeting. I have read where this has happened and the lawyer went thru with the meeting.
