What is the name of your state? NH - but State in question is MA
OK, a co-worker told me today that another co-worker of ours went to our boss to compain that I give her the creeps. From what I was told (limited info), she thinks I look at her weird and/or maybe this falls under that "leering" term... I'm just not sure.
So I called my boss out on it. I asked, what's the deal?? She said she couldn't really say, but it was nothing I said - it was more my facial expression towards her. I said I was taken back by this as A. I don't talk to this person as she comes off as a witch with a B. And B. I only see her in passing and am never more than business in saying "hi", afterall - we're on the same team.
My boss said it's nothing to worry about and that it is a "dead issue". She said just stay away, which won't be hard as I don't associate with this person in the first place.
My question: If this had escalated, is it a he said she said deal? I have worked at major corporations for more than 15 years - never has this type of potential harrassment issue come up. What would be my recourse should it ever proceed forward further?
My personal take - one of her best pals quit because a project I was running got delayed and he was the cause. I explained that to management and they "talked to him", the next day he quit. I think she's pissed that her buddy quit because of actions I took.
What are people's thoughts on cases like this? I can't 100% avoid this person, as we are on the same team and do have to work together in some capacity.
