What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Tennessee

Alright, so a friend and I were at our former workplace. We bought some food and were talking to some of the employees. At one point, the idea of us stopping by back in the kitchen came up. We went back there, said hey to some of our former coworkers, and dropped some toast/bun, joking around about our old jobs, and then we left.

Day later I received a phone call from the owner asking me to explain myself, and then proceeded to tell me that there would/could be legal action involving destruction of property and/or interruption of commerce/business. We talked about what happened a little bit, I apologized for not asking a manager first, and he said he'd get back with me on further action as soon as he reviewed the tapes.

Now that I think back on it, what we did was pretty stupid and irresponsible, no doubt about it. I don't mind paying for whatever the price of two pieces of bread and a bun is, but I'd rather not get charged with destruction of property, interruption of commerce, trespassing, etc etc. So I suppose my question is A) What is the best course of action, and B) What are any legal ramifications? Also, can the fact that the place regularly violates child labor laws, contributes to minors, and is currently withholding my friend's check (without reason) aid in anyway if the police get involved? Thank you in advance.

,groveling sounds appropriate

most likely trespass and some sort of damaging property or something similar to cover the cost of property loss (unless there is more to the story, and there always is more to the story)

so, now you are considering blackmail? T

Possible violations of labor law (and from the way you described it, I don't think you know enough about it to determine if someone is breaking the law or not) has nothing to do with your case.

They could be guilty as sin and it wouldn't help you even a little bit.

Agreed. Like I said, I've apologized, and I'm willing to pay the cost of the product. Past that I don't know how else to grovel.

There really isn't anything more to the story. I tried to recount it with as little bias as possible.

Of course not. I was simply wondering that if, in the process of investigating this, the police would bother with obvious violations of other laws. If so, the establishment may not go that route by their own choice. But I'm definitely not bringing any of it up on my own. Blackmail simply makes this all more complicated.

To my knowledge, it is illegal to work minors six nights a week when school is in session for six hour shifts. But I will Google it to be sure.

that may be but is will not affect your situation, unless, as I questioned before, you intend on blackmailing the owner/manager.
