What is the name of your state? Illinois

I applied for several credit cards in my name only over the years. After receiving the cards I asked for an additional in my husband's name. I gave only his name and no other info. These cards are now showing up in his credit report. I am positive I never gave his social security number. He has used the cards only occasionally. If I file BK would he be responsible for any of this debt? Also is this considered a joint account even though he didn't sign for this account originally.

If you simply had him added as a user of your credit cards and did not apply for credit with his name as well, you are correct, he would be what's refered to as an Authorized User.

The CC companies will still report the account activity on his reports however. What we did before we filed was called each of the CC companies and request they remove my wife who was listed as an AU user. 3 of them did it, 2 of them did not.

After we were discharged 1 of the CC companies was still reporting the debt on one of her credit reports. We simply disputed that with the credit bureau as NOT MINE and it was promptly removed.

If he's listed only as an authorized user, he is not responsible for the debt.
