My wife and i got married jsut this Thanksgiving. We know about communal things when getting married and with the government. But she has some debt wioth DIRECT LOANS federal program from school.

For some reason my wife is saying that i HAVE TO send them a copy of my paystub recently from my job to make a judgement of how much she owes.
I wan tto know IF I HAVE TO SEND THEM MY income personal information from my job or can i write them a written letter about how much i make?
My wif ehas been paying 23 dollars very month.

The letter says:
" Notice of incomplete or missing forms
income contingent repayment plan.
Third Request
1/24/2006

Reason for notice: we ar eunable to process your loan payments under the income Contingent Repayment (ICR) plan for the following reason(s):
x - Alternative Documentation of Income form missing or incomplete
x - Supporting documentation of current income missing, incomplete, or outdated (must be dated within the past 90 days).
x - Comments: Please send us a completed form that doe snot have problems noted above. Also (for supporting documentation), please provide copies of most recent pay stubs or a signed and dated written statement of gross income.

Says nothing about spouse ... on another form it hosue a empty space field where it has space for a spouse to fill out information but its not in the checklist of requests tha tthey want anything regarding the spouse.

They need only the debtor's information.

It appears that the original poster and his wife are trying to get payments set based upon income (income-contigent repayment plan). In that case, they need both parties income to figure out how much the household income is.

Hubby didn't seem real keen about giving his info (for which I do not blame him).

The solution, of course, is for wifie to pay her bills.

I see trouble brewing here....
