What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri

I have been a devoted and active member of a small city volunteer fire department for over 25 years.
We got a new chief 1 1/2 years ago and he changed our meeting nights to 2 Sundays a month, they had been on Wen night for 15-20 years.
I offered a solution of having 1 on sunday and to continue 1 on Wend nights to allow myself and other volunteers to attend 1 mmeting not on a Sunday.
That solution was not taken well and the meetings have stayed on Sunday nights.
Several other volunteers have buckled and go to the meetings, I have not.

I recieved a notice stating the city council has removed me from the Fire Department for not attending the Sunday meetings.

Do I have any recourse?

Thanks

Based SOLELY on the information in your post, no, you have no recourse. This is one of those situations where additional facts MIGHT change the answer.

If there are facts you have not shared which you believe might change the answer, now is the time.

Do you get paid to do this? Because if you don't, you now have more free time, and they don't get free labor. I'm not sure why this would bother you.
