What is the name of your state? Iowa

I just got a copy of my free credit report. I would like to raise my credit score. I know that there is one credit card debt that has been passed around to multiple collectors. I have asked the debt to be validated twice and it never was. Can I dispute all of these negative claims if these companies refuse to validate my debt and how long can some of these companies keep reporting negatively on my account? I have also had car loans with a certain bank for a few years and never have any positive feedback on my report for these loans that were paid off in a timely matter. Can I make them report positive things and will it help my score much? I get frustrated with just negative items and no positive.

Q: Can I dispute all of these negative claims if these companies refuse to validate my debt and how long can some of these companies keep reporting negatively on my account?

A: Yes.

Q: Can I make them report positive things and will it help my score much?

A: Ask them and I don't know.

Standard answer on expired SOL and/or validation and/or dispute letters. There are thousands of posts similar to yours on this forum so I have prepared a standard answer.

SOL
http://www.bcsalliance.com/y_debt_sol.html

Validation letter samples you can get at :
www.creditinfocenter.com
and www.creditboards.com

Disputes: You can write a letter of dispute to the three credit reporting agencies.

Go this website to find instructions and samples for how to dispute: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/creditreports/

Sometimes errors are easy to remove and sometimes they stick like glue. It is inexpensive to try and not difficult.

I am NOT a creditor-debtor lawyer; stand by for further help.

I am NOT vouching for the accuracy of these websites!

You can dispute anything you want. If they don't validate, include the specifics of their failure in your dispute letter to the CRA. A good sample letter can be found at: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/forms/

and how long can some of these companies keep reporting negatively on my account?
Seven years from default.

I have also had car loans with a certain bank for a few years and never have any positive feedback on my report for these loans that were paid off in a timely matter. Can I make them report positive things
You can ask them to report... but they have no obligation to. Also, they may subscribe to a different CRA then the one you are pulling. Talk to them and ask.

and will it help my score much?
No one can answer that... but be assured... it won't hurt.
