LOL horsep0wer, I know what you mean about the lawyer. I would think all this is public info and that you have a right to see your info.
I just wanted to type what is on the back of an affadavit of paternity in this state, of course I know it may be different in yours but maybe this will help. I'm going to start with the part we are talking about right now..filing with court.
3.When completed at birth, this Affidavit must be filed with the birth certificate. Under no circumstances will the birth certificate be delayed in order to complete the Affadavit. When completed and filed with the court at a later date, the Clerk of Court wil provide notice to NC Vital Records.
It also talks about other things like genetic testing, being married to someone else during conception or birth, listing father's name on birth certificate, retracting admission of paternity, rights and responsibilities of parents like, custody, visitation and support, inheritance law.
I'd call the hospital again and the courthouse. Maybe the Registrar of Deeds or Clerk of Court would know. It may even be possible to get copies from the Dept of Vital Records.
