What is the name of your state? CA

I recently plan to leave my current company which is a logistics company. I'm a system designer and I design a full package of software for my current company.

My question is, do I have to leave the source code when I leave? Can I apply patent for my software package?

Regards,
mongru

If you developed the code as a result of your employment, it is not 'yours'. It is paid for, and owned by, your employer.

Of course you can. But it is very likely that your employment 'agreement' includes the requirement that any product developed during your employment is owned by them.. and, if correct, you will be forced to sign 'your' patent over to them.

Sure, take the code with you, apply for a patent, use it any way you'd like :D

Your 60th birthday has come and gone
Your brain is smaller than the tip of a cone
It's no longer amusing, so I'll let it pass
Cause all in all, you are just an A$$

gone and cone don't rhyme

disclaimer: in my northern state these two words do not rhyme. this may not apply to all states and in fact some states may pronounce these two words in a manner in which they do rhyme. if you are a habitant of any state in which these two words rhyme, disregard the actual post. The disclaimer is still considered to be accurate and therefor shall remain.
