What is the name of your state? IL
My wife and I split up back in November. I asked her to leave because of the way she way treating me and the kids. Since then, we've had a hearing, where the judge awarded her Residential custody for some reason (I have my girls 4-days a week), and gave her 28% of my pay as child support. So now I can't afford a place to live, and am only going to be able to see my kids every other weekend now, and maybe a few days in between. The judge flat out said, "The state doesn't approve of parents bouncing their kids back and forth all week long, and I'm not about to overrule that." So it makes more sense to have a babysitter with my kids than their own father??? Anyway, getting to my point, I found out two nights ago that my soon-to-be ex-wife had cheated on me just prior to me asking her to leave. So, to quickly sum things up:
1. She treated me like absolute crap.
2. She treated our kids like they were an inconvenience.
3. She cheated on me.
4. She gets residential custody of the kids.
5. She takes all this money away from me every month, forcing me to give up my home, and a TON of time with my kids.
How the heck can I get this changed around? I honestly tried really hard to be a good husband, I AM A GOOD FATHER, and I never cheated... so how does she walk away from this with my kids, my pay, and leaving me in the gutter? Will bringing up the fact that she cheated on me have any bearing on things?
Please help... I can't see how any of this can possibly be right, not just for me, but for my children as well.
