What is the name of your state? Florida. The situation has to do with a settlement. I told my attorney to accept what was being offered due to my financial situation and the lack of med. care. He said it was not enough and I gave him a week to see if something else could be done, if not I told him to ACCEPT it. Now my calls are being ignored, either he is not in the office or he is with a client. Does the attorney have the right to hold off the settlement? If not, what can I do being that my calls are being ignored? Would a certified letter to the attorney do any good stating that I want to settle for what was offered? I'm too far into this to fire and re-hire another attorney and I need the funds to keep from filing bankruptcy and to see a real doctor. I want out.

you could try to make an appointment with him. if that doesn't work, one option would be to dismiss him as your attorney and then contact the defendant on your own. if you want to accept the offer, you could advise the defense of this on your own.

if we had the nature of your injury, the length of time it has been since your injury we could get a better picture. is the offer really enough to pay for medical treatment and for you to live on? I settled and was close to bankrupcy. remenber if you notify your creditors they will help you out some(mine did)looking back i should of held off a bit(the longer you wait the less your settlement is worth) if you have the veterns administration to fall back on like i did for treatment then maybe you will be ok. now i am content living on 1500 dollars a month from my disability retirement. the settlement just paid my outstanding bills but i still can't work. good luck
