A friend of mine borrowed the company truck to plow our driveway and also the elderly man's across the street. The man parked his car next to our driveway so his could be plowed. My friend backed into his car causing around $1000 damage. Should my friends liability insurance cover this or does it get covered by his company's liability?

IF the truck driver had permission to borrow the truck you could claim against the companies insurance but unless the guy driving the truck owns the company or is in real tight with them he might want to consider paying out of his own pocket.

(a good Christmas present for him would be the jobs section of the classifieds)

I don't know who the insurer is in this case, but most insurers require additional premium to cover the exposure for snow plowing - and they usually limit the coverage to commercial plowing. If you're going to file a claim through the company insurance, make sure they have these coverages. If not, they're risking getting dropped by the carrier.
