What is the name of your state? FL

My great aunt recently passed away and she left her condo to me and 4 other relatives. We will probably end up selling it, but in the meantime, it has to be cleaned out. I wanted to go there myself and start cleaning, but I was told by a friend that since I am not the executor of the will, I cannot legally do that unless the executor is there with me. Is this true?

You are foolish not to at least notify executor about this and get executor's permission. If you don't you are going to set yourself up for being accused of stealing valuable items from the condo.

Yes, it is true and the executor can have you arrested for trespassing for entering without his/her permission.

I DO have the executor's permission. He has the keys and is sending them to me. I was just wondering if he has to be there with me while I'm cleaning out the condo. He said he didn't think he had to be there, but I'm just wondering.

He doesn't HAVE to be there; he SHOULD be there but many executors are lazy and don't do a good job.
