Down Payment used car dealership florida

Florida, I purchased a car from a dealership new and used cars, The car was put in my name it's my sons car. We financed the car throught the dealership. I received a phone call 4 days after we took the car home from the dealership saying we didn't give them the down payment, they asked me if I had a receipt, this was the first time I have ever bought a car with cash, I told them I thought my finance contract was my receipt, they told me no and that I didn't give them the cash. I was shocked, I told them we did and that they need to find out what they did with it, I told them who we gave it to and they told me we didn't and that we need to return the car. I don't know if they can pick up the car or not , I don't know what to do, should I contact an attorney, does anyone know what my rights are? Is the finance contract that says total cash down payment enough? Very un professional dealership with the threats they are giving me over the phone? Please reply, thanks-

Of course, we don't have the ability to read your agreement.... and what it might say as to the down payment. Where did you get the cash??? Do you have a bank withdrawal slip (or similar) showing that you took that exact amount of cash from somewhere??? Simply, if you have nothing to even suggest you made a cash down payment, you are very likely going to get a life lesson on how important it is to get a receipt.
You should at least talk with an attorney and let him/her review your agreement and intervene on your behalf with the dealership to try to resolve this dispute. Absent that, the dealership may just come and seize the vehicle as they are the lender. Rightly or wrongly, you would then be in a VERY weak position if that happens.
