Thanks Pam I have been advised by one of my doctors to file a complaint against the original doctor. "The incident" took place over 2 years ago and until just lately I had no faith that any reporting I would do to any boards would be taken seriously.
Someone told me that because my case involves Social Services (Medi-Cal) that if I filed a civil suit, the FBI could get nvolved. Do you think this is true?
I have a settlement date April 23 and will probably agree to settle out, as I don't think I have a snowball's chance of winning. Why? Because this involves cosmetic surgery. I think I have a better chance of winning a civil suit.
The documents that could prove that he lied would be my own medical records, as well as witnesses. I believe (and so does my expert witness) that he falsified my medical records, too.
I have researched this case very extensively and know that I was wronged, but because it was cosmetic surgery, I hve little chance of winning a med/mal case. My allegations are failure to establish patient as a good candidate (several reasons, one of them medical), lack of informed consent, breach of duty and lack of standard care. Still... what gets me the most is that he went so far as to lie during his deposition. I wish I could file a suit for a crime against humanity.
BTW, he nearly blinded me during a lower lid blepharoplasty. I have many complications that are permanent.
Thanks again, I really appreciate your input. Stay away from plastic surgeons. It's a real holocaust.
