dui on private property

i live in sioux falls south dakota.and i was leaving my home
and i live in a mobile home park,i drove 2 driveways down from my home and decided to park my vehicle because i felt i had to much and should not drive.i left my vehicle and a highway patrol officer turned into the park and approached me and was then arrested for dui.the officer stated that he did not know i was driving and when my vehicle was searched there was no key in the vehicle or on my person.my question is can they ticket me for dui on private property under these conditions?
