What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? IN

I am a 17 yr. old male. I have a child due in September. I want to move out of my dad's house, and live with my girlfriend before the baby is born. I was just wanting to know what I need to do and know before I try to get emancipated. Any help would be awesome.

How long until your 18?
Is your dad okay with you moving out?

In order to be emancipated, you need to be supporting yourslef 100%, meaning no help from anyone. You'll need a full time job, that will be able to pay for rent, food, clothes, medical and car insurance. You will need to provide the court a good reason as to why they should grant you your request, and it does help to have your parents permission in order to be emancipated.

Do you plan on marrying the mother of your child? If so I believe that, once you are married does emancipate you, but given your age I'm not sure if you want to be married so young.

If your dad is okay with it there shouldn't be any problems, unless of course you get into trouble with the law, then your dad will still be responisble for you.
How old is the girl you want to move in with?

I turn 18 on Oct. 30. She is 18 and turns 19 in July. My dad has told me he doesn't want me moving out, because he thinks I will drop out. As far as getting married goes, we've talked about it and it's a strong possibility, but we're not sure yet. I've never been in any kind of trouble with the law. I'm wanting to move out and be settled before the baby is born.

An emancipated child remains subject to compulsory school attendance.
