What is the name of your state?Missouri
My 17 YO neice left home to live with her 22 YO boyfriend. She is in high school for 1 more year & currently has no job. Her mother does not want to be financially responsible for her if she does not live at home. Right now, the girl got an apartment with the boy & his parents are financing it. What is the emancipation law in the state of MO? Is there anything the mother can do to bring the girl home? The police told her she is of age of consent at 17 & they are the ones who escorted her out of the house when the girl tried to leave with the boyfriend.

Okay, I just spent an hour reading on this site & I see that she cannot emancipate herself under the conditions she is in currently. I also read that my sister can call her a runaway.
The police will tell you that any time you are somewhere your parent's don't know about OR don't approve of you can be considered a runaway. SO, even if you moved in with 'Bob' and they knew about it and told you that you were to return home you would still be considered a runaway.
She has been doing this already, but the child dissagrees with this term since the police said she can leave home. Is this a loophole in the law? The police cannot make her stay at home, but she cannot live away from home legally, is that right?
What will happen to the boy if my sister decides to file charges? Also, since his parents are financially supporting them, can they get into trouble too?
