Our employee evaluations are done in pencil by our many many managers so that two or three managers above them can change them. Are we required to sign such a travesty???? Last year mine was changed after I signed it. (Sort of an add-on deal). Legal???

You should ALWAYS get a copy of the evaluation right after you sign it. Periodically you should review your personnel file. If there were changes made to your evaluation you have the right to respond, in writing, to the changes. By signing a personnel evaluation, you are only saying that you had the opportunity to review and discuss the evaluation - not that you agree. If changes were made after you had this opportunity, you should note it in writing in the file as well as bring it to the attention of the personnel manager/HR Dept.
