What is the name of your state? Minnesota

Dear Sir.

I am from Minnesota. I was working for a company in Minneapolis for the last 4 yrs. I was a salaried employee and I have not been paid my regular salary for more than 9 months. In essense my employer owes me more than 30,000 $. I had to leave that job since I found a new job and now my previous employer is not returning any of my phone calls or e-mails.

I have filed an extension for my tax return in April. But he has still not provided the W2 statement for the year 2003 and even in the current year I was not paid for last couple of month.

I wanted to find out what are my options if I want to take legal actions against my previous employee ??

Any help would be really appriciated.

thanks.

Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Pick up the phone. Call the state Department of Labor. The phone number in Minnesota is 615-284-5005. Report the unpaid wages to them. Then call the IRS. I don't have a local phone number for you but I'm sure you can find one on-line on their web site. Report to them the missing W-2.

And after that, you might need to speak to an attorney. It's possible you may have to pursue civil action to obtain the wages owed to you.
