I work in the IT industry and I signed duh,,, an employment agreement with a company sometime back.

The agreement binds me to stay with them for a year. I realise that I'm being exploited and want to quit this company. A parent company currently runs my paychecks and I'm working on thier projects. Also I haven't transfered the contract rights to them, which my company (subsidiary) wants me to do (they have been asking me to sign another document). The contract with my company also doesn't mention a word abt the parent company.

Can I claim that I have not worked for the subsidiary in the first place?

Of course you can claim anything you want. Whether it would be sufficient to waive the contract is up to the EXACT terms of the agreement. Take it to a local attorney who can review it.... and figure out your convoluted 'attempt' to void it.

Yeah, a great plan. Get fired and louse up your future employment potential by getting 'branded' as someone who 'does as little as possible'. Sounds like a great plan to me.... and explains why this idiot has his OWN employment problems.

My employment problems stem from being too good to my previous employer, its only now that I see how easily an employer can screw you and how hard it is to get what you are owed through our so called system. As an example they do not dispute owing me part of the money, they simply don't want to pay and they did this to other people who worked there as well. The company has been around for about 3 years and has had between 3 and 6 employees and has cycled through every position about 3 times in as many years. Their contractors also tend to drop them like a bad habit. So IMHO you should STFU.

My previous comment was not meant to be serious. I would probably explain to them that you think the job has changed and request a better contract. And use the opportunity of them asking you to sign a new contract to get a better deal.
