After a 33 year marriage, my divorce was final in Feb. 03. My ex is a controlling man and our lives together revolved around him. I know, my fault, I am from the old school - you make you bed you sleep in it.
when I finally left and filed for divorce after being released from a mental hospital he had me committed to, my adult children said they would never speak to me if I took all from their father. I told my lawyer I didn't want to hurt my kids, I just wanted out. I agreed to my ex's proposal that I receive $350.00 a month spousal support for 8 months, my car, my clothes and 1/2 the retirement fund. I tried to be civil. Anyway, after 8 months, I still have no title to my car, no health insurance, no money and no retirement. My husband re-married and skipped to Reno. I can not get my lawyer to file contempt charges. Am I just screwed??? (my ex also filed a married filing joint tax return and forged my signature.) I just want what was promised to me.
