What is the name of your state? Wisconsin

My EX-girlfriend was living with me for a year and without my knowledge she used MY credit card to purchase eBlaster(a spy program that records everything you do on your computer and emails it to the person who installed it)...we have since broken up for over 7 months now and she lives in another state now.

She STILL however is getting these reports from MY computer and I found out about it recently because she emails me occasionally about what is on my comuter for spite.

I emailed Spector(the company who makes this program) and asked for a way to remove eBlasterand instead of helping they emailed HER and told her I was trying to get it removed. She immediately emailed me with great delight to go "neener neener"

Do I have any legal recourse? She purchased this program using MY credit card without MY knowledge or permission and I have informed them about this but they will not send something to help me. I am NOT a minor nor is she related to me in any way not then and not now. Is there anything I can do?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Report Her

For starters, report her to your credit card company for using your credit card illegally.

Try deleting the program. If that doesn't work, take it to someone who knows what they are doing. They should be able to remove the program or disable it.

Every program there is on the cpu is recorded at C:/Program Files. Search for the program you are wanting to remove. If that doesn't work go to the control panel and click add/remove. It should be on there.

Kingkerry, sorry but you are not correct.
There are a number of programs (eblaster) is one of them that are hidden and are NOT visible in any 'normal' search or display method. That is why they are called 'spyware'. It would kind of defeat the purpose if they could be easily seen or removed, wouldn't it??

Halket is correct. As a PC tech and software 'guru' I have seen many of these things. These programs can also be made to be undetectable as running programs in Task Manager, so you can't even tell that way that they are running at all. They can also be hidden in the registry, although, for someone who knows what to look for, it can at least be disabled in the registry from running at startup. It *might* also give you clue as to where the program is installed and what executable its running from. There's no guarantees though, these programs can be hidden there too, even though they have to be in the registry to run (well.. most of them these days).

Your best bet is one of the removers Halket suggested.. or, format the hard drive and send HER a 'neener, neener' !!!

problem with sending a neener neener to this "ex" she possibly could of purchased this software with a remote (this software is available with a remote). meaning she could hide the software in an email and send it back to her ex boyfriend and reinstall it from the remote.

Pretty insidious bit of software. Perhaps some good anti-virus software would detect something like that .. that bears investigation.

the only sure fire way to be sure to be rid of this is to format the pc and dont open any emails from this person anymore.
