ryry's mom, I know the feeling, my ex's support for the first 5 years was only 75.00 a month, which I didn't get and still don't get the 308.00 a month he is susposed to pay now.

Try paying CS to DH's ex that not only doesn't raise son but only sees him sporadically through the years. It's just easier since it's not that much than to have to fight it out. There are bad and good on every side and you can't judge someone else's situation from your own.

First off I gotta say that I personally think the laws in the country in regards to child support and custody are screwed up and in need of overhauling from top to bottom.

With that said, I understand about be frustrated about not getting support, I know, half the time I don't get mine and when I do it's not even the full amount. My ex seems to think he can pay whatever it is he can afford that month.

While my husband on the other hand pays 600.00 a month FOR ONE CHILD!!!

We live less than 15 minutes from mom and refuses joint physical because that would do away with her extra money.

However when all is said and done it will be up to the judge to decide whether you ex gets his support lowered or not. That he has been paying an extra 25 a week will only look good for him.

I may have read it somewhere but did you state anywhere about whether or not he sees his children?

In some states that has a bearing on child support as well..

And were not ridiculous, we accept what we have, we are just upset, no pissed, that women like you, are so greedy, and take everything from the men. It's not right. You say put your self in someone elses shoes, well why don't you put yourself in his shoes, and tell me how fair it is, oh wait a minute, even if you tried you would just say, well I'd pay it, bullsh*t, you'd be trying to get it lowered, cause it's alot of money, that you don't see. Yes well I actually get $520 a month in support for 2 kids and yes I am grateful that I receive anything at all because it only took him 9 YEARS to pay it....You know, I am sure that most of the ones that have replied and been so rude....are the ones who have also married a man who has to pay support to his ex wife...that is why you are all being so nasty...but hey it's not my fault you women were stupid enough to marry a man who had kids and an ex wife..you only have your selves to blame when pay day comes around and you're broke !!! i am one of those that married a man that pays child support. let me tell you i strongly agree that a man should support his children. i have never complained about the 200 a week that comes out of his check for his children. what bugs me is that with most exes it is never enough. she has the kids call to ask for basic necessities such as winter coats, shoes, ect. she insisted that he carry insurance and then won't use it, so he will have to pay an addtl 64% of all medical charges. also when we got married she actually threatened to take him back to court because she thought they would include my income with his. so please don't judge people until you know the circumstances.

I have only once asked for more support and that was 4 yrs. ago when he was only ordered to pay $50 a week !!!! and he was bringing home more then $600 a week !!!! I was a single mother at the time and only grossing $350....So I AM NOT one of those ex's who is trying to take every penney that my ex makes....I really do not even know why I am trying to defend my-self to you..for one you obvioulsy are a bitch and no matter what I say you are still gonna bash me and second of all I don't owe you an explanation..I don't owe you ****!!!!

Ktarra to answer your question no he does not see them at this time..he is currently in the county work release program and is not allowed to see them per their rules....

You get $520/month for 2 children and another poster on this thread gets $900 and you all say that isn't enough? Get another job! Crap! I get $34.62/week for two children COMBINED and that is only when CSE gets off their ass!! I have yet to scrounge and hunt and beg and plead to see what all my ex "may" own or what money he "may" have coming in!

I'm the other poster who got $900 per month CS for 2 children and trust me, even with the good job I had...I just couldn't cut it. I was just trying to help Ingrl out with some advise...I never implied that the $900 per month wasn't enough...just stated that Ingrl's $520 per mo. was not enough to make ends meet with 2 children. CS payments are different in each state and with each case. Some NCP's make more money...so the CS is adjusted to his salary. My ex is the one who offered that amount of money to me because he wanted to make sure his children would be okay...and I never once asked for more or complained about it...in fact, I was very grateful to him for thinking about his children's welfare...so I had it lowered, which allowed him to make the CS payments on time each month, and have a life of his own. Some ppl called me an azz for having it lowered, but I saw it as "one hand washes the other". My heart goes out to those women/men who don't receive anything at all or get as little as you say you get. I feel if a CP doesn't get enough CS for the children, then she has every right to fight for more. What I think Ingrl meant was she just wanted to keep the CS at the rate it was at, I don't think she was asking for more. I'm not defending her or anyone else...I'm just trying to see both sides here, because I am on both sides of the fence. My current husband pays CS ($250 per week) for a son he NEVER EVER gets to see...we live in NY and they live in Indiana, and she refuses to let the child fly to NY alone. So my husband must fly there to bring the child here ( and only on her conditions) that can get pretty expensive. I just think this whole matter got out of hand...and some of us misunderstood what others were trying to say. I don't get CS anymore...my kids are grown now. But for those of you who are not getting any CS or are getting very little...it is YOUR right and your children's rights to seek more. Good luck to everyone...and peace be with you all

Besides failure to provide support has he been charged or convicted of anything else? Maybe I am wrong but that just doesn't sound right to me...

I am not gonna get started on the child support thing because I have never sought an increase simply because my ex cant or wont afford it. I think the way they calculate support is screwed up anyway and also the custody laws. the way the states have done this lets give all the power to one parent and basically tell the other one, yes you have joint legal but it doesn't really mean anything because the CP can still basically do what they want because the child lives with them is just wrong.

Maybe with the laws will change one day...
