What is the name of your state? Illinois
We had an issue with our last landlord. She received a judgement against us, which we agreed to. She would not accept any of our payment arrangements and proceeded to garnish my husbands wages. The first discrepancy was that our copy of the garnishment paper was filled in incorrectly. There was no date to appeal. After my husbands employer notified him of the garnishment we received a photocopy from our landlord of the writ of garnishment with the proper info filled in. Two weeks later I received a writ of garnishment for the same judegement and same amount. They have already begun deductions. Is this legal? Wouldn't she then be collecting the same amount twice? What would my recourse be?

You may have just received duplicate communications. You should NOT have to pay twice. Check with the lawyer serving the garnishment papers, if there is one. If not, check with the Clerk of the Court to ease your concerns.
