What is the name of your state? Mo
My ex wife won't return my personal property that I was awarded in the divorce. This has been since Dec of last year. Should I file contempt of court charges on her and how do I do that? I have asked several times and still don't have anything back. She stripped the house when she left. Even took the lightbulbs. That was 3 years ago when she did that.

Thank you

Are you sure that she still even has the property? You certainly can and should file for contempt, but its possible that she disposed of the property long before the judge awarded it to you.

What if she has gotten rid of it? do I have any recourse to have her fined or account for what she did with it. Also which court do I go to to get the contempt charge.

Thank you

You may have recourse for contempt of court. You go back to the court that originally issued the order.

Can you put a dollar amount on the property or is it property of a purely personal nature (like photos, keepsakes)?

You'd have to have her served with papers which you would need to have legally done. Speak to your attorney that handled your divorce case.
