What is the name of your state? Illinois
During heavy snow fall, store employees put down cardboard and maybe rugs from doorway to the counter because the floor was wet. I slipped or my feet got tangled up and I went down. An ambulance took me to a hospital with a broken left arm (my dominant) broken right knee and other injuries. I had one operation so far, this is my second week in the hospital and I just started rehabilitation.
I provided the hospital my own insurance which I get from work. I overheard that the hospital will send me home at the end of this week. I have no one to take care of me, my arm is in a cast and my leg sticks straigh out, and I live in a split level.
I would think that someone from the convenience store would get in touch with me, so far no one did.
I'm alone and at a loss as to what to do? Everyone tells me to get an attorney, I don't even know how to get one and I certainly can't pay because who knows when I'll be able to go to work.
I'll thankful for any advice.
