What is the name of your state? ILLINOIS

Purchased a '99 Jaguar in 12/02. Was starting to have repair issues and decided to trade it in. Took it to a couple of delearships and was only offered $13 - $14K (s/have gotten at least $19K) and couldn't understand why until at one dealership they let me look at their AutoCheck report and it showed the car had been in an accident prior to it being sold to me. The dealership I purchased the car from gave me a copy of thier CARFAX report which I signed acknowledging I read it shows no history of 'ANY' accidents.

I just want to get rid of this car. What legal rights do I have? I still have a hefty outstanding balance on the car note.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thank You

Carfax should be taken as a grain of salt. They report accidents correctly 25% of the time. Is the title for the car clean? If it states on the car title of a prior accident/wreck the dealership is legally obligated to not only tell you this before finalizing the purchase but also have you sign a form stating you understand the car was previously damaged. Signing a carfax report means nothing.

Where's IAAL!?! I need a good laugh. Maybe I need to post an eBay question to get him out of hiding.
