What is the name of your state? Ohio
Yesterday my boyfriend and one of his friends went to nearby city. The friend was driving my boyfriend's car because my boyfriend has no license. Friend was speeding and got pulled over. Officer asked him to get out of car and spoke with him in patrol car. Friend came back to boyfriend's car with ticket. After officer had left, friend told boyfriend that he used my boyfriend's name because he was on probation. Officer never spoke with boyfriend at all. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Tell "FRIEND" that if he doesn't call the officer to straighten this mess up Your boyfriend will. Then the 'FRIEND' can add another criminal charge (or two) to his jacket

So wait, how did the Officer not figure out that the person driving was not the boyfriend? Don't officers ask for a license, and therefore see that the name given did not match the one on the license?

Re: falsification in Ohio

The officer gave the man a ticket for speeding, no driver's license and the friend also admitted to him that he was not wearing his seat belt!!!

So if he gave your bf's name, and they ran that name through, they should have seen that your bf had a license... right?

Sigh.

This didn't happen because my boyfriend currently does not have a driver's license (stated in the first post) which would explain why the friend was ticketed for no driver's license when the officer ran my boyfriend's name through! This was why my boyfriend was not driving the vehicle and was a passenger. The friend is on probation and was fearful of getting into trouble so he used my boyfriend's name to save his own behind. Do you have any advice on this or just commentary???

Sigh. Sigh.

No, they don’t. The “advice” you receive here is pretty much worthless since it is little more than fodder to make fun of drivers/passengers caught in the system.

The first thing you need to do is determine exactly where you are right now. Take a very good look at the ticket. Does it really show your BF’s name on it? If so, then you and BF need to take it to the cops and explain that the ticket was issued based on fraudulent information, i.e., that your BF’s buddy lied to the cop. Why the cop would accept his word without some kind of verification is beyond me but that’s another story. Be prepared to tell the cops where to find BF’s buddy.

Step 2 is to explain to BF’s buddy that he’s a dickweed and no longer a friend of yours. With friends like that, you need no enemies.

No, I didn’t get “booted.” Nobody has even said anything other than the usual complaining, which, of course, is like water off a duck’s ass. I just took my quick trip out to CA.
