What is the name of your state? Utah

So back in 2003 there was a family road trip from Kearns UT. To ST. George UT. Unfortunately there was an accident now in the vehicle at the time of the accident was 3 cousins of mine, my older brother, my mother, me and my father. 3 lives were lost both of my parents and one of my cousins, one of my other cousins remained on life support and now lives his life with brain damage and in a wheel chair. So my aunt mother of my cousin in the wheel chair was taking care of the legalities of the accident I was a minor at the time and from what was told to my oldest brother who was a legal adult he was being appointed POA over my parents estate. My aunt told us that $10,000 was all that was settled from the accident. Now let's fast-forward to 2018 I guess there was some kind of notice that went out to everyone who was involved in the accident that I guess there was a insurance settlement of $50,000 from the car rental company or something. So my aunt that taking care of the legalities at the time was employed at Lexington law firm. So when everyone's (referring to survivors of accident) information was submitted to the courts by my aunt all the details was my aunt's details. Her address her phone number her email I mean the only reason why I know about this is because I looked on Utah court exchange just recently. So what happen is my aunt got $50,000 and me and my brothers didn't see not 1 cent she actually bought herself a nice house. I just want to know are we SOL or can I pursue I mean she probably spent it all but that my issue. Please if you need more info don't be shy to call or email please. Thank you

I am so sorry to hear about the tragic accident and your enormous losses at such a young age.

Now that you are an adult, have you had any in-depth talks with your older brother and your aunt about the accident, and the settlement and insurance amounts?

It appears that any legal action you might have considered is now time-barred. You can review facts with an attorney in your area to determine this better.

Frankly, you don't even know "what she did." It's entirely possible that everything was above-board.

I think you might want to talk about the accident with your aunt. I suspect that your aunt received the bulk of any settlement to help cover the (probably very high) costs of continuing care for your cousin/her child.

You know it wouldn't be a problem if the was the case. But in the case I read on court exchange says that my all of his medical bills were cover, separate from the $50,000. You know I really don't even care I mean I guess I'm really just bitchin because I'm struggling now and it just makes me mad!

I am sorry you are struggling. You could review the matter with an attorney in your area but I think the passage of time has eliminated any legal options that once might have been available.
