When you figure out why that case doesn't apply to you, let us know.

I just read it, and while it would not be applicable as primary authority it would certainly be applicable as secondary authority, and it is very much on point. I suspect that cases in Idaho itself in regards to promissory estoppel could be found as well.

Primary authority would be a case decided by the Idaho courts, rather than from another state (Michigan is the state that decided Faxton).

Idaho courts do NOT care about Michigan courts. Not at all. Different laws.
